Links to Other Clubs

The Sydney Stereo Club (SSCC) has close links to the following 3D oganisations, either holding joint events or participating in their activities:

Victorian 3D Society

• The Victorian 3D Society is our sister club based in Melbourne. Like us, they celebrate all forms of 3 dimensional photography, computer graphics and stereoscopic imagery. The Victorian 3D Society and the SSCC alternately host the biennial Australian National Stereo Photography Convention. The first Convention was held in Canberra in 1967.

New Zealand Stereoscopic Society

Photographic Society of America (PSA) 3D Division

• PSA is a worldwide interactive organization for anyone interested in photography, be they casual, serious amateurs or professional photographers. The SSCC runs, under the recognition of the PSA (annually now 41st), The Southern Cross International Exhibition of Stereo Photography. Members compete in other PSA recognised International Stereo competitions. In the PSA "Who's Who of Stereophotographers", three members of the SSCC are currently in the top ten stereo photographers in the world. The PSA also holds the International Stereo Club Competition which was by the SSCC in 2019-2020.

Stereoscopic Society (UK)

• The Stereoscopic Society was founded in 1893 and spawned similar organisations worldwide, including Australia.

International Stereoscopic Union

• The International Stereoscopic Union is the international body representing stereo camera clubs and individual enthusiasts throughout the world.

Federation of Camera Clubs (NSW)

National Stereoscopic Association (USA)

• The National Stereoscopic Association is an incorporated, non-profit, tax-exempt organization founded in 1974. The goals of the association are to promote the study, collection and use of stereographs, stereo cameras and related materials; to provide a forum for collectors and students of stereoscopic history; to promote the practice of stereo photography; to encourage the use of stereoscopy in the fields of visual arts and technology and to foster the appreciation of the stereograph as a visual historical record.
