The Victorian 3D Society and the Sydney Stereo Camera Club alternately host the biennial Australian National Stereo Photography Convention. The first Convention was held in Canberra in 1967.
The 26th Convention was hosted by the Victorian 3D Society in May, 2019 in Maldon, Victoria.
The 27th Convention was hosted by the Sydney Stereo Camera Club in Parkes, NSW from Friday 4 to Sunday 6 March 2022.
The 28th Convention was hosted by the Victorian 3D Society in Cowes, Phillip Island, Victoria from Friday 3 to Sunday 5 May 2024.
Highlights from Cowes 2024:
- The use of themes for the 3D shows.
- The presentations and technical talks by Malcolm McCormack, Carlton Wright and Jim Metcalfe.
- Presentation of medals from the 2024 Southern Cross Competition.
- The sunny beautiful weather.
- The local sights and photographic opportunities at the National Vietnam memorial and farm on Churchill Island.
- Catching up with other participants at the convention dinner.
